Jenn & Jode's Wedding

Wow, what a weekend!

Congratulations to Jenn and Jode—a super-fun couple from Glenevis, Alberta—who finally tied the knot, on the ten-year anniversary of their relationship.

I pretty much did this wedding alone. I had my father-in-law to assist me, but I was the only photographer. Sherri stayed in Lethbridge.

The weekend kicked off with a relaxed reception-ish party on Saturday night, with dinner and live music provided by Jenn's family.

Apparently Jenn is the reigning queen of air hockey up in Glenevis. Well, she was until I got there. :) That's right, folks, I am the air-hockey table master. But I pretended that I didn't know how to play and challenged Jenn to a game. Oh, man, did she ever fall for it. 10 goals to 4, baby! I have photos of my victory, but I am too modest to blog them.

The wedding ceremony was the next day before lunch in the most unique venue I've ever seen for a wedding, by far: an old schoolhouse. Jenn and Jode own it (they're converting it to something else) and they wanted the wedding in there. It was actually very cool, with big windows and funky colours and textures everywhere. As a photographer it was easily one of the most interesting venues I've seen.

Their daughter was the flower-girl—she was really cute!—and the ceremony was sweet, with lots of laughs. Afterwards we had a lunch reception—yes, that's two receptions!—and then took some more pics. :)

Jode and Jenn were not only lots of fun and obviously in love, but they were also really into the photos, giving me as much time and opportunities as I wanted. Some of the images involved such things as dirt basements, petrol and matches, train carriages, two different ladders, and more besides! I have so many shots I like that I'm finding it hard to narrow them down to fit them on just one blog page. Ah well, that's a good problem to have, right? :)
