Amanda & Garrett's Wedding

What happens at the union of two self-professed geeks? A whole lot of fun, actually! Firstly, I want to say that Amanda & Garrett both have incredible attitudes--very relaxed & easy to get along with--& great, quirky, personalities, too.

There were some tense moments in the day when things didn't work out as smoothly as planned, but Amanda & Garrett were both awesome & didn't let it get to them.

Amanda & Garret's wedding really felt like a celebration of marriage. Their family & friends were very unselfconscious & we have tons & tons of images of people relaxed, laughing & enjoying themselves.

Oh, & the best man's speech was hilarious! But it was also insightful & meaningful, too.

I should mention the DJs, too. The company was Magical Music DJs and they were the best DJs I've heard all year. They added energy to the dancing, garter toss, etc. without being intrusive.

In picking out the random handful of photos for the blog I had a lot of trouble narrowing it down to just the ones I've chosen. We have so many great photos!

So here's to a couple who are more fun than an entire Star Trek convention.

Woo Hoo! :)

I'm so excited about this!

David Beckstead is one of the top ten wedding photographers in the world. (That's not the exciting bit. Well, for him it is, but the exciting bit for me is next). He has a website called Admired By Beckstead where he presents his favourite wedding photos and he recently asked me if he could put some of mine on his site.

I'm so honoured to have three of my photos featured on his site, especially when I look around at the other awesome work by incredible photographers from all over the world right up there with mine.

If you want to look for my images there is one in the Groups category (it's the first one at the moment and it's of the groom and groomsmen). And there are two more in the Bride And Groom category.

If you've never heard of David Beckstead, I recommend you check out his site, too. He's a very cool photographer and also a really positive and enthusiastic guy.

Jonathan & MaryLou's Wedding

Jonathan & MaryLou were married at Cardston Temple on a gorgeous day with both nice blue skies & dramatic clouds. Their wedding had originally been scheduled for 7/7/07, but had to be postponed. Fortunately, we were free on the Friday afternoon in August that they selected for their wedding & were able to be there to capture the afternoon with them.

I really enjoyed taking their portraits & most especially when it was just the two of them. Their love & their happiness to finally be married was so obvious. They were a lot of fun. :)

I also have to mention that the colours they chose--orange & green--were very funky! Cool choices, guys.

Here is a random sample of pics from their day:

Nicole's Portrait Session

Nicole came down from Calgary to do her session with us and it was such a pleasure to have her here. She was very easy-going and natural in front of the camera, even though she said she was nervous. :)

Nicole is also a big Audrey Hepburn fan and when she first called she asked if we could do some Audrey-inspired photos from around the Breakfast At Tiffany's era. Err, could we? Heck, yeah! We're always up for something different, especially when it's with fun people. :)

Nicole has really got in shape lately and so we took some pics to show that off, too. Who doesn't want to have photos of themselves when they're looking great?

So here are a random handful of Audrey's--ahem--Nicole's photos from the day.
