More Random Thoughts

Sherri insisted I buy some nice sandals. Apparently running shoes and shorts don't go together--who knew? I think it's just as well she doesn't choose the clothing for athletes or there'd be trouble. :) Between her and my mother, Olympic runners would be wearing sandals and sensible hats with wide brims. Actually, maybe they should be the people who choose clothes for athletes. It would make watching sports more interesting. ;)

But anyways, is it just me or are sandles little traps we wear on our feet to catch rocks? I think whoever designed the modern sandal decided that shoes were just too comfortable and wanted to design something that, instead of keeping rocks out keeps them in. Because once you have a rock in your sandal you can tap your toes and whack your heels on the ground until you look like a 6-year old who needs to use the bathroom, but there's just no getting that rock out without removing the whole sandal.

Jody & Marlies' Wedding!

Last weekend Sherri & I were up in Calgary again, this time at the Canada Olympic Park for the wedding of Jody & Marlies. I'd never been to the COP before and it was cool venue. We were packed in pretty tightly up there, but the views are the best in all of Calgary! Awesome views.

We didn't have a lot of time for the portraits and I'd love to go back sometime, maybe for another wedding in the area, and use some of the ideas I came up with!

Random Thoughts

I was in Cardston yesterday for a job and was walking down the main street at one point when I saw a sign on a hardware store that said We've Got Your Lumber! and I wondered: is that an ad or a confession of theft? :) I was tempted to go in there and demand that they give it back.

David & Trina's Wedding!

These guys were so fun and laid back the whole day. I don't think I've ever been to a wedding where so many people had such a relaxed attitude and sense of humour. It made it so easy to get great photos! We have a lot of cool shots from the ceremony and candids, but here are just a random sampling from the day that I happened to get done in Photoshop already.

I just realised that I have a portrait of the groom alone here, but not the bride! Oops! I'll have to find one of Trina to add to this as soon as I get a moment. :)

Calgary Family Portraits

These guys were having a family reunion in Calgary on the Stampede weekend and they decided to have some family portraits done while they were all together. Todd saw my website and gave me a call. Lucky for us all, I was passing through Calgary that day on my way up to Edmonton for Trina's 'Trash The Dress' session the next day. So we were able to arrange a shoot while I was there. I'm glad we did! These guys were very easy to work with and I think we took some great pics.

Todd wanted more spontaneous, fun shots, but his mum, Joyce, was after something more posed and traditional. It was a challenge pleasing everyone, seeing as they pretty much had completely different tastes! But we managed to get a bit of both during the afternoon.

Trina's 'Trash The Dress' Session

Trina & Omari just had their wedding anniversary & Trina wanted to do something she'd remember. So, she got out her wedding dress & we headed to one of the lakes up there to get some photos.

Trina & Omari run Creations Photo up in Edmonton & Omari took photos as well.

Here are mine! I think Trina is going to remember this anniversary! :)

P.S. I don't really like the phrase 'trash the dress', because to me there's nothing deliberately destructive about it. It's all about creating the coolest images possible without having the usual boundries about keeping the dress sparkling clean.
