Winter Engagement Session

Well, semi-engagement session. :) You see, Mike was supposed to have already proposed to Coralie by the time we had the photo session, but he proposed afterwards. So this is a kind of retrospective engagement session. And retro is in, right? :)

I know I've enjoyed a photo session and enjoyed spending time with my clients when I find myself smiling as I edit the images later. And this was definitely one of those times! Sherri and I both really got along with Mike and Coralie and they were so easy to photograph, although they say they always hate having their photos taken! Actually, most of our clients are like that: they normally hate having their photos taken, but end up having fun with us.

Anyways, we went back out onto the ice on one of Lethbridge's west side lakes and messed around in the snow as well. Here are some of their photos and we look forwards to seeing them again on their wedding day!

Recent Awards - And More Recognition!

Well, it's been a while since I posted, but we have some big news to make up for it! After the new year Sherri and I flew to Tampa for a couple of photography conventions and the ImagingUSA trade show. While we were there the winners of the DWF Photo of the Year contest were announced and I'm happy to say that the two images I submitted both placed! :)

The DWF is a professional wedding and portrait photographers' organization that has members from all over the world, including nine of American Photography Magazine's and Popular Photography Magazine's top ten wedding photographers in the world! There were some really, really impressive entries and I'm just over the moon to have drawn two third places in the two categories I entered (couples and people). It's like two Olympic bronze medals!

Another thing that was super cool was that two of the photography companies at the trade show had told me that they really like our images and would like to use some to display their products at the show. Plus, the finalists in the DWF contest had their images displayed around the convention area. So everywhere I went there were our photos. It was my little moment of fame. :)

You wanna see pics? Of course you do! :) Here are our two winning entries (next year I'll enter Sherri's pics as well):
