Corey & Chelsea's Engagement Session

Congrats to Corey and Chelsea who will be married in September 2008 here in Lethbridge. We did their engagement session last weekend and it was a blast! :) They braved the below-zero temperatures—and even worse: Park Place Mall the Saturday before Christmas!—and we got a lot of cool shots that I'm really happy with. They were a really laid-back couple who seemed to be up for almost anything and the whole session was a lot of fun with them.

Poor Sherri was pretty cold though and the very next day went out to buy a warmer winter jacket. :)

Anyways, without further ado, here are some of the pics from their e-session:

Edwin & Holly's Maternity Session

Or 'bump shoot' as we photographers like to call them. :)

I think these are my favourite kinds of photo sessions. I love weddings for similar reasons: people are in love and happy and there's a great sense of entering into a new phase in their lives. But weddings also have lots of drunk people dancing really badly and maternity sessions don't. Score one for maternity sessions. ;)

Seriously, there's just something really touching about a maternity session—the couple in love and already in love with a baby that hasn't even yet made an appearance. They are quite intimate and exciting, especially when it's the first child.

You may notice that I haven't said much about Edwin and Holly yet. That's just because, while I found the time I spent with them doing the photos to be fun, it was also private in that I shared a special insight into their lives as parents-to-be; and so I'll just let the images speak for themselves.

Corey & Krista's Engagement Session

We did a fun e-session in the snow with Corey and Krista and their dog, Jake, who romped around sniffing at the snow-covered prairies and tried to take my camera out by running right at it. I suppose I asked for it by lying on the ground and calling to him.

Would you believe that we are doing three weddings and portrait sessions next year for couples named Corey and Kristi or Krista? Obviously, Coreys and Kristas (or Kristys) are meant to be together. It's fate. :) We look forward to seeing them all again soon!

Here are some pics from this e-session.
