Mike & Silvana

Mike & Silvana's wedding was a very cool change of pace for us. For one thing, it was actually in Lethbridge--yay, no driving for miles & miles! :) --and for another thing it was very relaxed. OK, so we have definitely done relaxed weddings before--even recently--but somehow this one felt different.

They had a 50s & 60s theme, which was really creative & added to the fun of it all. Silvana's wedding dress was vintage-style & made specially for her by a relative. Her veil and one of her rings were both passed down from her grandmother (I have to check these details!).

Silvana spent the whole day & night smiling. I can't remember when I saw someone smile so much! Mike is a very down-to-Earth guy and really easy to get along with. Despite all the pressure of organising things for the day he was really patient for the photos.

Anyways, here are Mike & Silvana's random handful of images:

Eddie & Michelle's Wedding!

Eddie & Michelle were recently married in Calgary & we were there to take their photos. (I'm sure you could have guessed that, but still). ;) They were a lovely couple who really knew how to feed their photographers and we wish them a lifetime of happy years together.

Here are a handful of random pics from their day.

Wandering Thoughts

I've been thinking about travelling again. We'll be doing some destination weddings soon and the whole concept is really exciting to me! It got me thinking about one of the things I like about travelling, which might seema little weird, but bear with me: I like to be in a place where I can't speak the language. See, I said it was a bit weird. But in a world where there is so much information so freely available there is a real appeal for me to find something I don't know, something new and different.

Of course, it's good to know some basic stuff in the native language. Some things are just not a good idea to communicate by miming--such as asking to use the bathroom. :)

As the world becomes more Westernized, it's good to have some areas still relatively untouched, with their own cultures and mystery. Now we just need someone to book us for a wedding somewhere exotic, like, say, Petra. :)

Marcella & Mike's Engagement

Congratulations to Mike & Marcie on their engagement! :) I know I say this all the time, but these guys were heaps of fun! And I think they were our most willing couple yet as far as going along with my suggestions. They were up for anything! At first they seemed a little camera-shy (who isn't, really?), but after a little while they relaxed and got right into it, climbing all over the scenary at the end of the shoot.

I'll have to come up with even crazier ideas next time. Well, just a couple anyway. ;)
